The Salad Vending Machine
Does Luke Saunders not understand the first rule of vending machines? This is; Nothing -and I mean absolutely nothing – healthy can possibly come out of these machines. Saunders decided to buck the trend and dispense organic salad from his weird vending machine in Chicago. It is made from reclaimed wood (the machine, not Chicago) and any salad which isn’t sold at the end of the day goes to a local food charity.
The Crab Vending Machine
So, there you are walking along the streets of Nanjing in China. The first thought that comes to your mind is, “How did the hell did I end up in Nanjing?” The second thought is likely to be, “Where can I buy some live crabs without the inconvenience of having to speak to someone?” Hey, they’ve got a thing for that.
The Hot Frozen Food Vending Machine
I have absolutely no idea what kind of food this strange vending machine dispenses to its happy customers. My confusion is only deepened by the fact that the signs say “Hot Menu” and “Casual Frozen Foods”. So what is it, dude? Is this stuff frozen or hot? Because unless they are selling Baked Alaska or Fried Ice Cream from that thing is sure can’t be both at the same time.
The Pizza Vending Machine
The world just got a bit more exciting in my eyes when I saw this picture. Let’s Pizza is a great name for a vending machine or for anything really. It offers 4 types of pizzas and if one ever appears near my home I’ll probably never venture into my kitchen ever again. Unless its pizzas are rubbish, of course.
The Hot Dog Vending Machine
You know those days when you really, really want to get a hot dog but get put off by the amount of time you would need to invest in this enterprise? Even if you buy it from a handy street vendor there’s that annoying queue to deal with even before he has to cut the bread open and stick the fricking meat in there. Use this machine and you’ll be chomping on processed meat before you can even say, “What’s in these things anyway?”
The Lego Vending Machine
So you are standing in Munich train station waiting on a train to, err, somewhere else in Germany. The train is late and you are bored. If there was just one thing which could make this interminable wait less annoying it is, of course, a Lego vending machine.
The Lettuce Vending Machine
You could give an infinite number of blank patent applications to an infinite number of mad scientists and none of them would come up with this beauty. This is apparently a Japanese lettuce vending machine. I say apparently because that is what it is called on all the sites I checked, but it doesn’t look much like a vending machine to me. Anyway, the lettuce is grown inside the machine. Which is kind of weird when you think about it.
The Crack Pipe Vending Machine
In Canada you can buy a crack pipe from a strange vending machine for 25 cents. It is a health initiative to make sure that drug users have access to clean pipes.
