Fusion food sounds like the kind of freaky nonsense you want to steer well clear of, doesn’t it? Well, thankfully there are a few weird types of fusion food that you might actually want to try.
Chicken Tikka Yorkshire Pudding
If you have ever been to India and Yorkshire then you will realise that these places are virtually interchangeable. Apart from a lack of cows in the middle of the road, Leeds is the double of Bangalore and if Sheffield had a Taj Mahal it would be just like that Indian city with the Taj Mahal in it. This means that the only surprise is that it took the world until 2014 to create Chicken Tikka Yorkshire Pudding.
Italian Sushi
If you want to try some authentic sushi then you need to go to…Italy. What? It seems as though Italian sushi rolls might be the next big thing.
Chicken Tikka Pizza
We’re back to chicken tikka again, aren’t we? The Brits love this food so much that they throw it onto just about everything. In this case they have taken the traditional British pizza and slathered it with chicken tikka. At first it might sound like an awful idea but just think about it for a few seconds while looking at the picture. Have you thought about it yet? You want to try it now, don’t you?
Haggis Pizza
The best thing about pizzas is that you can put just about anything on them. The worst thing about pizzas is that people put just about anything on them. Here we have the classic Scottish dish of haggis, which involves the parts of sheep that are normally only seen by ovine forensic crime investigators. It is then poured onto an Italian pizza to give us a weird type of fusion food that I would quite like to try.
Spaghetti Tacos
Life must be really complicated if you love both spaghetti and tacos. You see, there just aren’t enough meal times in the day to enjoy both of these tasty treats as much as you would like. Sure, you might try and eat tacos for breakfast and cram some spaghetti down your gullet last thing at night but you can basically kiss goodbye to any prospect of a normal life. By eating spaghetti tacos instead you will still feel weird but at least you won’t need to set your alarm for a helping of Mexican treats.
Savoury Cupcakes
If I’m being honest this isn’t really a fusion food at all. It’s just a cupcake made with savoury ingredients instead of sweet stuff. Still, they look weird and I wouldn’t mind sinking my teeth into one of them.
The Ham Dogger
For some reason today is the first day in my life that I have come across the type of food known as the ham dogger. Before I get too upset about all those wasted years, I need to point out that making a hamburger in the form of a hot dog is just about the cleverest thing you could ever do. This is one of those examples that make you proud of the human race and makes you feel quite confident that we could probably fight off an alien attack if we ever had to.
