Beer is undoubtedly a gift from the Gods but how has Man sought to improve upon its already perfect qualities? That’s right; by adding all sorts of weird ingredients to it.
Seaweed and Flowers Beer
Abashiri beer from Japan brings us the unbeatable combination of melted iceberg water, seaweed and flowers. If you have always wondered how these things taste together then there is no longer any need to head out to a melting ice cap clutching a bunch of wilting flowers and some stinking seaweed. Just go to Japan.
Pizza Beer
You’d need to have a cold, cold heart to not smile when you first see a bottle of pizza beer plonked right in front of you. Now if someone could just invent beer flavoured pizza then we would have the perfect meal.
Banana Bread Beer
If you haven’t yet tried the multiple delights of banana bread then your reasons for giving this strange beer flavor a try are too many for us to go into right now. Let’s just say that your future self will thank you for giving it a go.
Tea Beer
If there is one thing better than enjoying the healthy and refreshing qualities of tea it is getting utterly smashed out of your head at the same time. Tea beer is something you really need to add to your drinking habits.
Creme Brulee Beer
Order a bottle of crème brulee down your local pub and be prepared to lose your street cred and be the butt of your friends’ jokes for the rest of your time on Earth. Still, the last laugh will be yours, as you enjoy the creamy, elegant taste of this weird and wonderful beer.
Tomato Beer
Chilled tomato beer with added salt and lemon is described on this packaging as being the perfect combination. Is it? Is it really? It just sounds to me like the worst drink ever.
Maple Bacon Coffee Beer
I honestly don’t know where to start with this weird beer. It is described as being a “complex diner style breakfast in a glass.” Hell yeah, cause that’s the kind of thing I love to drink. When the barman asks me what I want to drink I always say that I would like something complex and kind of like a diner style breakfast. Preferably in a glass.
Beer Latte
I’m not sure if this can be classed a latte flavored beer or beer flavored latte. However, after some of the weird flavours we have seen so far I’m just glad to see something that most people might consider drinking. Can you imagine the whole of Starbucks filled with people getting horribly wasted on latte? It’s a brave new world alright.
Milk Beer
Milk beer and milk stout aren’t as uncommon as any sane person might think. It actually sounds like a pretty good combination to me. It’s got to be healthy as well, hasn’t it?
Avocado Beer
Avocado Ale brings together two of my favorite things in the world, so you won’t find me complaining about it being a weird beer flavor. If someone could find a way of adding a hot dog to it then my life would be complete.
