Men's Fall and Winter Style from Men's Style Lab

Casual Business Attire

Fall is in our midst and it is quickly turning into winter. Living in the Midwest means very cold, very miserable winters. Typically when we think of outerwear we do not think of style or good looking men. We have got to change a few things, a man should look great with or without a winter coat.

To be honest with you all, how many of us see men in anything but North Face jackets all winter long. Which is fine, but we are not rock climbing the Pikes Peak, we are just trying to get from point A to point B, but in style, of course!

We were recently asked which type of winter coat we at Men's Style Lab think every man should have in his closet and we knew right away what our answer would be. To us the answer is quite obvious, the peacoat. Why peacoats? We are glad you asked.

Simply put, peacoats are very easily dressed up and just as easily dressed down. You can wear them with a sport coat and tie just as easily as you would with loafers, jeans and a turtleneck sweater.

Say you are going on a job interview and it is snowing outside, the temperature is a cool 13 degrees outside. You are wearing wingtip oxfords, a nice suit, and then you reach for your North Face jacket. UHH what? No! Stop and put it down, it's not professional! That is why you go out and buy a black, dark blue or dark brown peacoat and a great scarf this instant. Not only does it yell "I want the job!!" It says, I am warm and classy. On the reverse side, peacoats can be worn out to dinner, to sporting events and even to the grocery store.

The Way the Coat Fits is Important too!

Winter Wear

They add that extra little something that all men need from time to time. There are tons of peacoats out there and they are not all the same! Fit is important, nobody wants to see someone swimming in their winter coat and nobody wants to see a man busting out of their winter coat. You need something you can move in yet the sleeves aren't flopping around like loose skin!

So if we are asked where to start a wardrobe and we're beginning with a coat it is most certainly the peacoat and to think it hasn't changed since it's introduction in the 17oos. How is that for classic style.
