It’s great to be back on. I know it’s been a couple weeks but the gang is back with a ton of stupid stuff to talk about.
Welcome to the mantastic podcast my name is Sean Kavanaugh your host and I’m here with my extra special co-hosts Allen Wilterdink and John George Ellis.
It’s almost x-mas time. Have you guys put up all the Christmas decorations?
I effing hate putting up xmas lights, like you can’t hate it anymore that I do, it can only be a tie.
So I saw these laser lights, have you seen them? You put one or two in your lawn and it sprinkle the front with green or red dots or snow flakes. I was like YES there are my effing lights.
So went out and bought two one for half the house and another for the other half. Badda Boom Badda Bing. So I get them home and fiddle around with them and get them on but I can’t really seen them too well.
So I’m WTF, so I turn off all of the lights in the house and I turn off the porch light and I can finally see them but it’s not good. So what I figured out is that they look great if it’s pitch fucking black outside, like if no one else had any Xmas light on next door or across the street.
These should come with a disclaimer, Only for purchase if you live more than 400ft of your nearest neighbor and you must shoot out your street light to be able to see.
So my idea went up in smoke, You know what I did? I bought three green LED bulbs and put them in my outside lights and put a pre lit snow man on the front porch…….thats it……Merry xmas every body.
The Kavanaughs are rocking xmas cha chi style. I was so emotionally distraught I couldn’t put up anymore lights.
Anyway tell me your xmas stories? Allen you have kids what is the IT toy for the year? Because we have to talk about some adult toys in the next couple minutes.
My daughter wants Monster High dolls, Beanie Boos (Another mega hit by the Ty company) That’s all my daughter talks about are freaking Beanie boos and Justice clothes
My son wants, mini replica college football helmets, pro football jerseys and an iPhone 6 oh and those Amiibo’s by Nintendo. Have you seen those? They are very similar to the Skylanders figures.
Nintendo has started making figurines of their characters and the Wii U controller has NFC built in so you can use the figurines to play Super Smash Brothers or Super Mario Kart 8.
So on to must have adult gadgets.
I have to be completely honest I felt really cool wanting to talk about the new LG G Watch R, the new Android wearable but after Al forwarded me that little Youtube video last night I feel like a big pussy even talking about it. Al that video changed my life.
Since you two besties have already collaborated to purchase the gadget in the video why don’t you talk about it because it changes things. Do you remember the Segway advertising? How they said it would change the world this little gadget is a game changer.
Drones are really big this year. I know they have been around for awhile but they are becoming mainstream, I love the Parrot Bebop drone. 180 degree HD camera, audio, the ability to use FPV glasses and navigate in conjunction with your smart phone or tablet its cool as shit
The other drone that looks bad ass is the DJI Phantom 2. You’ll have to compare the two for yourselves. The Parrot is 899 with the sky controller and 499.00 without the DJI drone starts at $679. Anyway good stuff.

Any how about we talk some new music coming out over the holidays?
And no it isn’t gonna be the 30th Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Album covering Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas. NO seriously did you know Mannheim Steamroller has 9 Christmas Albums talk about milking it till it’s dry huh?
The guy across the street from me spared us from his Mannheim Steamroller Christmas lighting tradition this year.
He usually starts at about 10 o’clock on a Saturday a few weeks before xmas and he brings out his Bose Sound Dock and blares Steamroller for 4 or 5 hours. It’s so fucking annoying.
Ok back to new music What have you guys got for me?
I gave the new Smashing Pumpkins record featuring Tommy Lee on drums which I’m not sure is good or bad. Anyway it’s a pretty heavy considering the last few Pumpkins albums have been pretty lame. I’m not sure if I like it completely yet but I’ll get back to you on that. (I’ve sinse listened to it again and it’s the best thing Billy Corgan has put out in 15 years. )
The next one I love is the Alt J spotify sessions. They sound great live. They are such an interesting band and they sound like no one else.
The new Foo Fighters album Sonic Highways is very very good in fact it’s my favorite Foo Fighters record since One By One. I know the whole HBO series chronicling the recording of the album was a little indulgent but it’s pretty cool when a rock star is so well liked and respected he can get other huge stars to participate in the process. Gary Clark Jr., Zac Brown, Joe Walsh and Ben Gibbard all lend a hand on the album.
I would be remiss in not giving a mention to Pixie’s Doolittle 25 with B-Sides and Demos. 25th anniversary of the Doolittle. What a great effing record.
Speaking of music and gadgets John both you and I have and love the Soundfreaq Soundplatform 2. While getting the family new phones this week I picked up a special they were running at the Sprint store. $149 for the Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio Bluetooth speaker. I’m telling you it makes our Sound platform sound lame.
