Did you even know that shadows can be funny? I bet you didn’t. However, here are some pretty amusing ones which have been caught on camera.
The Fishnet Stockings Shadow
Can I still call these things fishnet stockings or does that make me sound like a vaguely perverted guy who is caught up in a time warp in the 80s? In any case, it’s a great photo.
The Cow Shadow
I used to do this hand shadow thing my dad taught me. I would put my hands together and twist a few fingers and as if by magic a small dog would appear on the wall. A deformed dog that didn’t really look very much like a dog, I guess. If you hadn’t already guessed from that description, my funny shadow making skills are pretty lame. This group, though, are completely awesome.
The Clothes Shadow
It probably took a lot of patience to get this shadow picture just right, but it was worth it.
The Skateboard Shadow
This is just a brilliant funny shadow picture. I assume the guy riding the skateboard was flying above the board at the time the picture was taken. Was he falling or was it a well judged stunt?
The Well Timed Shadow

I have no idea if these people deliberately set out to make funny shadows but I like to think that they didn’t. Oh dear, I’ve just realised that I now have something else to worry about in life. Now I need to watch what my shadow is up to. As if modern life wasn’t complicated enough, I have this to worry about this now as well.
The Almost Kissing Shadow

This is just a quite brilliant shadow, because it just looks like the complete opposite to what is happening in the boring, non-shadow real world. She is completely ignoring the guy, walking past with her chin up and looking straight ahead. He seems to be looking at her but there doesn’t appears to be any way they will ever enjoy a romantic encounter like the one their shadows are having. Even the dog is intrigued.
The Sand Faces Shadows

This looks like a lot of fun and something to definitely try out the next time you are at the beach. As far as I can see, it just involves scratching some marks in the sands then leaning over it and taking a picture. What could be easier?
The Pincer Shadow
Strangely enough, just the other day my daughter was delighted to find out that things can appear to be a lot bigger when they are seen as shadows. She was walking up the stairs and as she turned round she saw that her shadow was about 4 times bigger than mine. Maybe we should making funny shadows like this one the next time.
The Camel Shadows

Technically speaking this is probably an intriguing shadow picture rather than a funny one. However, it’s one of my favourite photos ever and I can’t resist adding it in. It comes from the National Geographic and the great thing about it is that the black camels you can see aren’t really camels; they are the shadows. You need to look very carefully to try and see the real camels.
