The funniest out of order signs don’t just tell us that something is broken. They also let us enter a world of humour, fun and sometimes weird stuff we didn’t really want to know about.

The Far Corner Toilet Sign



If you are ever in this place you don’t want to go to the Far Corner. Ever.

The Broken Copier Sign

On of the one hand, I salute the person who made this out of order sign. It is very comprehensive and leaves the reader in no doubt as to the current situation with the copier. However, it may be me just being overly sensitive here but I think I can detect the tiniest hint of anger there as well.

The Sink Toilet Sign

If you are ever in a place with a sink like this then two thoughts will come to mind almost at the same time. First of all, you will be silently thankful to the management for providing a smart and efficient alternative to the toilet. A couple of seconds later – probably just as you are washing your hands in the sink, actually – darker thoughts will start to form in your brain.

The Sprite Only Sign



Are you feeling thirsty? Have a Sprite. If you like your bubbly, teeth rotting, calorie laden refreshements to be Not Sprite then you are in the wrong place. They don’t do Not Sprite here.

The Specific Bowel Movements Only Sign

Jeez, if there’s one thing worse than having loose or diarrheal type bowel movements it is having to read a sign like this before you can sit down and let them happen. What happens if you think you can feel a serious looseness down there but aren’t sure? Do you give it a try and see if the result is any way diarrheal or do you try and hold it in? On reflection, just saying that the damn toilet was out of order would have been a lot easier.

The Soon-to-be-Out-of-Order Sign



Before anyone writes in to complain; I know that this isn’t an out of order sign. However, I feel that it is a member of that rarer breeed of notices known as the soon-to-be-out-of-order sign. Let’s face it, if people are flushing paper down there then the chances are that other stuff is going down as well. It’ll be broken soon enough. It ain’t rocket science.

The Broked Sign

Ok, so the spelling’s not the best in the world but at least they get their message across.

The Broken Phone Sign

We’ve all done it, haven’t we? We see an out of order sign and we think that we will give it a try anyway. Maybe aliens have fixed it or maybe a leprechaun just went past and sprinkled some fairy dust on it. Then we look all disappointed as we see that it really is out of order. However, even worse than this is the person who steps out of the phone booth or the ATM just as you are about to go in. You take a few steps to the machine and see that it is out of order .Why didn’t he tell you? What are people so cruel and evil?

The Carrier Pigeon Sign



I have to admit that I like funny out of order signs that give you an alternative. In this case, I would actually like to try sending some important business messages by pigeon. Maybe we should have a World Carrier Pigeon Day in which no one uses email or phones. Our cars would all be covered in poop but think how we could save the planet like this.
