Going to the toilet is one of those things that we all do. Heck, some of us even do it on a daily basis if I am being honest.

However, is it really necessary for movie makers to give us so many famous movie toilet scenes over the years?

Famous Movie Toilet Scenes

Tom Hanks in the Green Mile

Famous Movie Toilet Scenes

Is it just me or does Tom Hanks have an unusually weak on-screen bladder? He had made an impressive career out of urinating when you think about it. Forest Gump, A League of Their Own, Castaway, Apollo 13 and Saving Private Ryan are some of his finest moments of toilet-based action but nothing beats The Green Mile. In this movie his character has some kind of hideous bladder infection that ends with probably the most glorious cinematic leak ever. If you didn’t feel vaguely uncomfortable watching it then you aren’t even human to start with.

Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun

Famous Movie Toilet Scenes

It has been a few years since I last saw this comedy movie but I can’t forget how utterly cringe worthy and disgusting Nielsen’s trip to the bathroom is. He is hooked up to a mic for a press conference but forgets that the mayor and dozens of journalists can all hear his every splash, grunt and err release of wind when he goes to the bathroom. The excruciating toilet scene seems to go on for an absolute age and if you enjoy immature toilet humor you may need to change your underwear after this scene.

Ewan McGregor in Trainspotting

Famous Movie Toilet Scenes

If you are planning on eating anything in the next day or so then I can suggest not looking up this film clip on YouTube. Ewan McGregor is in the world’s worst toilet and dives into the filthy water to recover some drugs he just dropped.  I think it might be all some sort of weird hallucination but I was too grossed out to keep watching the screen to find out more. My advice if you ever lose anything down a disgusting toilet is to just let the darned thing go forever.

Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 2

Famous Movie Toilet Scenes

As we have already seen, movie toilet scenes can be filled both humor and drama in the world of the movies. In the case of this action flick the makers tried to add a bit of both.  Danny Glover (he’s the sensible one who just wants to retire to a quiet life) sits on his toilet and unwittingly activates a toilet bomb. Because toilet bombs are real things used by unscrupulous South African criminals, it seems. Mel Gibson (he’s the crazy one who just wants to dislocate his shoulder and catch perps) helps save the day and everyone lives happily ever after. Or until the next crazed criminal attempts to kill them.

Mike Myers in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery

Famous Movie Toilet ScenesAt times as seems as though Mike Myers might almost match Tom Hanks in terms of the amount of time spent on bathroom related issues in movies. One of the most popular scenes in this Austin Powers film is when he enters a cubicle and then gets attacked by one of Dr Evil’s henchmen. As he grunts and starts shouting about “number 2” the cowboy in the next stall offers his some encouragement with his turd producing process.
