The craze for extreme selfies looks like being one of the big trends in 2014. These involve people taking selfies in weird and dangerous positions. Here are a few of the best ones around just now, and a few shocking ones as well.

The extreme selfies trend kind of merges and blurs with the selfie Olympics movement. This generally involves people getting into strange positions and then taking a picture of it. This usually happens in bathrooms. In this case, I can only wonder how she got back down again after taking the picture.
The Way Up High Extreme Selfie
Woah, being up on top a star on top of a building is even more dangerous than hanging off a couple of bathroom doors. This cool guy is called Kirill Oreshkin and he is well known for taking extreme selfies like this one. This is one his most famous selfies.

This incredible selfie was taken by a Danish F-16 pilot. Yes, that’s a rocket taking off beside him.

These selfie Olympics photos are starting to grow on me. This guy has kind of stretched a leg up the door and is sort of standing on the door knob. Actually, this is a dangerous pastime and you shouldn’t try it at home. You should also try cleaning the old specks of toothpaste off the mirror before you take picture in there as well.

This guy looks kind of happy, doesn’t he? So would you be if you were falling to Earth from a great height and still had time to whip out your camera and take an extreme selfie.

This guy was just flying through the air in his bike when he decided to take a snap of himself. Actually, this picture just got me wondering whether some people take fake extreme selfies. This would involve the subject sticking out their arm but someone else next to them taking the picture. Have you ever done this? It sounds as though getting the timing right might be more difficult than just taking a selfie, I guess.

At first I thought this was a photobomb rather an extreme selfie .However, on closer inspection I reckon that she is perfectly well aware that a giant whale or shark or something is behind her and considering swallowing her. I certainly hope she is, anyway

This is a rather famous extreme selfie recently taken by a guy called Christian. Well, it’s actually a picture someone else took of Christian taking a selfie, but you know what I mean. This picture was taken at the Great Bull Run in Texas at the start of 2014. The bull looks less than impressed, to be honest.
