Getting a tattoo is meant to be forever but then so are plenty of other things in life that really aren’t. Here are some celebrities who got a tattoo done and then realised that it wasn’t all that great an idea after all. So they got it removed or altered.
The Wino Forever Tattoo

Perhaps the most famous tattoo cover up job of all belongs to Johnny Depp. The star of some movie about pirates got a tattoo saying WINONA FOREVER when he was in a relationship with Winona Ryder. In the end, FOREVER really meant FOR QUITE A SHORT TIME; so he had the words altered. Personally, I would have changed it to NONA EVER or maybe WIN A REV. Sadly, I’m not as cool as Johnny Deep, who went for WINO FOREVER.
The Adios Antonio Tattoo
The world looked on with a mixture of shock, admiration and downright jealousy as Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffiths made their marriage work for a surprisingly long time. In fact, it looked for a while as if they might even – gasp! – never even split up at all. In the end, such old fashioned romanticism blew up in our faces. Melanie famously got a tattoo on her arm with Antonio’s name inside a heart but now it’s time to say Adios to the words. It all looks a bit naff just now, so I guess it is still in the process of being removed.
The Charlie Fairy Tattoo

Let’s face it; if you were to marry Charlie Sheen you would probably get Charlie tattooed onto your ankle as well. This is exactly what Denis Richards did; obviously thinking that she had finally met the sensible, down to Earth sort of guy she was after. Once the relationship shockingly and surprisingly failed she got the Charlie turned into a lovely fairy. In a neat twist, Charlie also get Denise’s name tattooed onto his body (his wrist) and then had to have it removed.
The Billy Bob Tattoo
Angelina Jolie is another celebrity who thought that getting married meant staying together. When she got married to Billy Bob Thornton she got Billy Bob tattooed onto her arm. When they split up she faced the difficult choice between finding another guy named Billy Bob and getting the darned thing removed. I know a guy called Billy Bob who is a bit of a looker despite his bald patch and pot belly. The fact that he didn’t have to fight off the actress’ advances makes me think that she didn’t make a serious attempt to find a guy with the same name. It’s her loss, really. Instead, she got the tattoo turned into one giving the co-ordinates of where her family members were born.
The Chris Brown Tattoo
This classy guy has so many tattoos that I have no idea where the controversial one of his ex is. Apparently it’s on his left arm and is a tribute (that means a not very lifelike image, I think) of his ex, Karrueche Tran. His then-current partner, Rihanna, spotted this tattoo among the rest he has and gently suggested that he might want to consider removing it. He did. Maybe now that he’s split up with Rihanna he might want to get it inked back on again.
