tequila

Spring is here and the weather is getting warmer. Our preferences are changing from boots to running sneakers, winter hats to baseball caps and, of course, scotch to tequila. That’s right. Our tequila hibernation is over.

Perhaps this spring, we should look past the normal margaritas, and check out these killer non-margarita tequila drinks!

pink

Paloma

A Paloma is one part tequila to two to three parts grapefruit juice or greapefruit soda. An easy, on-the-rocks concoction.

red

Tequila Campari

Mix tequila and campari for a Negroni-esque drink. Add a splash of fruit juice (We love cherry juice!) to top it off.

frothy

Egg White Tequila Sour

Tequila, bitters, simple syrup and lemon make this refreshing and lighter than a margarita. Add a bit of egg white for a delicious froth. Garnish with an orange.

bloody

Bloody Maria

For early morning drinkers, a Bloody Maria replaces the tired Bloody Mary. Substitute tequila for vodka and lime instead of lemon and a little more hot sauce. Muy caliente!

sunrise

Tequila Sunrise

An often-forgotten classic, a Tequila Sunrise is tequila, OJ and a bit of grenadine. It’s sweet and not for the tequila connoisseur, but delicious when a sweet drink is preferred. Maybe too sweet for a long night, it’s great when you want one, sweet drink.

diablo

El Diablo

Delicious and not your normal tequila drink, an El Diablo is tequila, ginger beer, lime and (the incredibly yummy liqueur) crème to cassis. Bright, but complicated, it is always a surprise. The devil here is in the details.

punch

Tequila Punch

Pair any citrus juice (lime, lemon, orange) or acidy fruit juice (pineapple, guava) with some tequila and soda (or champagne) for a refreshing, delicious and dangerous drink on the hottest summer days. Don’t’ say we did not warn you that it was dangerous.
