Most everyone has a favorite number, one that has a personal meaning or represents something special in their life. It may be a favorite athletes’ jersey number or the date of a special occasion, perhaps just a number that feels lucky.

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has a number, and it’s a big one.

10,000,000.

It’s not likely to be placed on a jersey or T-shirt, though it certainly denotes a special occasion or achievement. That’s the number of rounds of golf that have been played on the various Trail courses since its inception. And the number is growing every day.

Consider that for a moment – 10 million rounds of golf. Now  imagine all the shots – all the birdies, bogeys, pars and “other’’ scores – that have been recorded, all the friendships that have been celebrated and all the business deals made on the Robert Trent Jones-designed layout. Then consider all the other numbers that have been created – economic impact, businesses attracted to the state, businesses enhanced by the Trail, lives affected through business or leisure ventures associated with the Trail – and consider the number those aspects represent.

The RTJ Golf Trail is big, and it continues to get bigger every year. As such, so does the number of rounds of golf played on the string of golf sites. The dollars coming into the state in the form of economic impact in general and certainly in terms of tourism revenue also continue to increase.
